Our health care system is perilously close to collapse. Forty six million are uninsured, 25 million are under-insured, costs are outrageous, insurance companies cherry pick and worse yet retrospectively deny coverage, while doctors are micro-managed with excessive paper work demands, stuck in pre-web faxing and 'mother may I' phone call routines in order to first see a patient, and then get paid. Many are burnt out and few are happy with the status quo.
Meanwhile the politicians are 'debating' health reform in Washington DC and the airways, web and other media outlets are so full of mis-information, no one is quite clear how to make sense of it all. Yet while the noise level rises, medical innovators are already making decisions and commitments to better serve their patients.
